wardy reveals yoga secrets
THERE'S a new Ward calling the shots at Ramsgate – Jim's wife, Muriel.
Yoga instructor Muriel has volunteered her services to liven up training during the lousy weather.
Rams, who are due to go to Faversham tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm) have been up to all sorts to beat the boredom.
Jim said: "Muriel teaches yoga so she offered to do a night of stretches and that.
"I like to keep one step ahead of everybody else and this is something different.
"All the players are into it, it's not got that namby-pamby image it used to have.
"Ryan Giggs even has his own yoga video out. It's helped prolong his career."
Rams players have also tried their hand at boxing training but they need to work on their table-tennis, darts and pool skills after a disastrous club bonding night up against the management team of Ward, Timmy Dixon, Darren Beale, Martin Jefferys and Ada Hubbard.
Ward explained: "My team won and the players weren't happy about it.
"Jefferys was best at darts, I was best at pool and Ada best at table-tennis.
"It was a great night, a good get-together with a couple of beers.
"Our new signings from Gillingham, Bradley Dack and Jack Parter, came along and I think it was a bit of an eye-opener for them.
"We're having fun but at the end of the day everybody wants to play football."
Ward was hopeful of getting some five-a-side action for his squad at training – and the manager's been joining in lately, too.
He said: "We were playing seven-a-side the other week but we were short of players so I had to go in goal.
"I was diving about like Lev Yashin. It took me two days to get over it."
