A five-year old boy is in a critical condition after a road accident in High Brooms.

The boy was in collision with a Ford Fusion on Powdermill Lane at around 3.25pm on Wednesday.

He was rushed to Kent and Sussex hospital with head injuries and later transferred to a hospital in London.

He is currently in a stable but critical condition.

Local people have reacted with horror at the latest accident, which comes just months after two children were knocked down on nearby Yew Tree Lane.

One woman, who did not want to be identified, said: "There are too many cars, going too fast and being too careless.

"I hope that boy is okay but maybe it will make people think more about their driving."
