Boy band JLS performed a surprise show for excited fans at Sandwich Technology School, while Formula One world champion Jensen Button swapped his usual wheels for a rather more sedate taxi.
The famous faces were in town for the shooting of the commercial which will star Gary Linekar and will air on TV from March 10.
One pupil at the school even got the chance to sing with her idols when they pulled her up on stage during the performance.
Stephanie Turner, 18, said: "I was on stage dancing with them, it was amazing. I wanted to cry it was that amazing, it was the best time of my life ever."
It was a real shock for some of Jensen's passengers when they realised who was at the wheel of their cab - but then that was all part of the plan.
Miranda Sambles, marketing director for the crisp manufacturer, said, :The success of this ad relied wholly on capturing the reactions of ordinary people to the extraordinary scenes we created.
"The true stars of the Walkers Sandwich ad were the people of Sandwich. We couldn't script them or direct them but we have been bowled over by their reaction, their fun-loving enthusiasm and their over-whelming hospitality.
"On behalf of everyone at Walkers, I'd like to thank them all and our celebrities for being such good sports."
