A teen view of life in Dover
WE ALL know that Dover needs revitalising. It's clear that we need to put pride back into our town. Dover over the past 10 years has taken a major downturn in industry, with shop after shop, business after business closing up. What we need is to inject some life into the town.
A shopping centre is a great opportunity to import multiple businesses into the town. We need some popular branded shops, preferably ones that don't go bust after a matter of months. This would attract people of all ages; look at what happened to Ashford when the outlet was set up, thousands of people go there every year.
This would generate profit for the town and create hundreds of jobs; people would actually stay in Dover rather than go to other major shopping destinations like Ashford and Canterbury or even London, now with the high speed connection.
What we also need is a large theatre, something that can hold large audiences at affordable prices. This would be the ideal venue for upcoming comedians, artists, bands etc as well as luring more high-profile counterparts.
