Northeast gets under-19 call-up

YOUNG Kent batsman Sam Northeast has been named in the England under-19 squad for the forthcoming home series against Bangladesh.

The teams will play two Tests and five one-day internationals.

Northeast, 19, is currently playing for Kent in their County Championship Division Two game against Gloucestershire at Beckenham.

The full squad is: Scott Borthwick (Durham), Danny Briggs (Hampshire), Nathan Buck (Leicestershire), Joshua Cobb (Leicestershire), Jaik Mickleburgh (Essex), Sam Northeast (Kent), Thomas Poynton (Derbyshire), Azeem Rafiq (Yorkshire), Hamza Riazuddin (Hampshire), James Taylor (Leicestershire), James Vince (Hampshire), Luke Wells (Sussex), David Willey (Northamptonshire), Chris Wood (Hampshire).

The Test matches start on July 6 at Scarborough and July 12 at the County Ground, Derby.
