'Win a millionaire lifestyle' extended

THE Ightham millionaire who is offering people a chance to win his luxury home, car and boat has been forced to extend the closing date of his competition due to poor ticket sales.

Andrew Paul, who owns a £1.1m house in Copt Hall Road, struck on the "Win a New Life" competition idea following his divorce.

The 38-year-old is also offering his house, his £160,000 Aston Martin DBS and his £200,000 Sealine 35 Sport motor boat to whoever wins his online spot the ball challenge.

They will also receive £85,000 towards the cost of running their new luxury lifestyle.

The original closing date was Wednesday last week (August 19), but after only 40 per cent of the tickets sold, ticket holders have been emailed to say the closing date has been extended for a further three months until November 19.

If all 200,000 tickets are sold Mr Paul will rake in £4m, meaning he stands to make a profit of about £2.5m from the scheme.

He said: "I am not at all despondent. We always knew it would be tough but interest is huge.

"It is a tall order but I think we will at least hit the minimum amount needed to hold the competition."

Existing ticket holders to his online spot the ball competition now have the chance to buy three tickets for the price of one.

Last month Mr Paul admitted ticket sales had been affected by scepticism but he assured people the competition was genuine.

If all 2000,000 tickets are sold, all of the prizes will be awarded. If fewer than 150,000 are sold, competition rules mean he can offer a cash prize of anything between £10,000 and £1m as a percentage of sales.

If all the tickets are sold Mr Paul has said the winner does not have to take the house and assets. He is offering a cash prize of £1m instead.

Mr Paul, who has given up his job as a City equity trader to concentrate on the competition, says he is now holding talks in Hollywood about the possibility of running a reality TV game show on the back of his "Win a New Life" competition.
