Chance to wear Princess Diana's wedding dress
A Sevenoaks school is offering a lucky raffle winner the chance to wear one of three dresses owned by Princess Diana.
The New School at West Heath, which caters for children who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, was opened in September 1998 on the site of Princess Diana's former school.
Three replicas of the Princess' stunning dresses have been loaned to the school for a year by their New York owners.
Among them is the replica of the Princess' famous wedding dress, which she reportedly wore during fittings and was kept in reserve in case the original was damaged on her big day in 1981.
At a fundraising event at the Ashgrove Road school on Wednesday, a raffle will be drawn and the winner photographed in their choice of one of the three dresses. Cash raised will go to the charity which runs the school, West Heath 2000, which is managed by former school principal and founder Val May.
She said: "It's a night with unusual Christmas presents so we are having a variety of stalls from local traders and there will be Botox and a company which hires classic sports cars.
"A free cocktail and a free goody bag will be given to everyone who comes."
Miss May added Rupert Young, Will Young's brother, will be the event's guest of honour as the patron of the charity.
Tickets cost £5 and can be bought from The New School at West Heath on 01732 460553 or Harveys Menswear in the High Street.
