Ramsgate town council moves after 109 years

RAMSGATE town council has voted to move to new offices in the harbour after 109 years at Albion House.

Town councillors voted eight to six in favour of moving to the former Custom House building in Harbour Parade. Town Clerk Richard Styles said the council could get better terms

Town clerk Richard Styles said the council could get better terms at the Custom House than if it remained at Albion House, which owners Thanet council are trying to sell.

In another vote the council agreed to look at buying Albion House to keep it partly in public use.
