Luddenham Primary School named best in Kent
A FAVERSHAM primary school has been named the best in the Kent.
Luddenham School also came out as the 10th best state primary in the south east and 19th best in the country.
It rose nearly 50 places in one year in the Sunday Times' School Guide released last week.
Head teacher Mark Croly said: "We are very pleased with our place. It was something I certainly wasn't expecting to see when I opened my Sunday paper but I think it is well deserved.

"The Sunday Times guide does not represent flash-in-the-pan success. Instead, it looks at pupils' achievement over a three-year period."
The study was based on Key Stage 2 exam results from 2009 to 2011. But Mr Croly, who has been head teacher at the school for 25 years, did not think the school's new academy status had contributed to the position.
He said: "We were only made an academy this year and the guide goes much further back than that. Instead I think it is a result of good teaching, good children and good organisation.
"We have been building on what we were doing before and continuing to plough the furrow."
The school has 218 pupils aged between four and 11.
