RAIL services through Rainham were disrupted for two hours this morning after a teenager threatened to throw himself from a bridge.

The 19-year-old, who has not been named, clambered on to the line near Otterham Quay Lane at 6.30am.

British Transport Police were alerted and train operator Southeastern suspended all services while the man was persuaded to accept medical treatment from paramedics.

He is now in the care of Medway Maritime Hospital.

Trains started running again at 8.30am.
