Homeless charity Porchlight held their annual count of those on the street after midnight last night (Wednesday November 12).
Their poll was carried out in Canterbury, Thanet, Ashford, Dover, Swale, Shepway, Dartford and Gravesham.
In Canterbury they found four people sleeping rough and evidence of three more.
This compared to a total of three in Dover, two in Thanet, four in Swale and one in Gravesham.
"The street count is only a snap shot of the people who are sleeping rough," explained Mike
Barrett, Chief Executive for Porchlight, which has a homeless hostel in the city.
"It does not show the whole picture of homelessness, as we never find all the people who we know are rough sleeping and it doesn't record the hidden homeless - people who are homeless but not necessarily sleeping on the street or at least not every night."
