X Factor Lucie up for lads' mags after rocking Kent crowd
The 18-year-old Welsh singing sensation - controversially booted off the show when judge Simon Cowell saved John and Edward - revealed all after wowing fans at the Chicago Rock Cafe in Maidstone on Thursday night.
Amazing voice and stunning looks make Lucie hot property. And she said: “I don’t think I could ever do anything naked but I’d love to do something like FHM, it would be great to look sexy! Imagine me on the front of a magazine!”
Lucie’s X Factor exit caused outrage in the national press and on internet forums. Cowell was expected to keep her in the competition but surprised millions of viewers with his decision following a sing-off.
She said: “He said he was going to judge it completely on the performance and then afterwards he said he was going to judge it on who he’d rather see again.
"I only found that out after plucking up the courage to watch it back but I’ve spoken to him since and I don’t hate him or anything. He said he was really proud of the way I handled myself.
"It doesn’t matter that I’m out now because it’s given me a massive opportunity and I'm just really glad I've done it, for so many reasons. My life has completely changed and now I'm able to pay for my brother to go to uni and stuff."
Lucie remains good friends with show mentor Dannii Minogue, who has also appeared in Maidstone, at Jumpin’ Jaks in 2001.
The X Factor tour is coming up in the New Year - including a date at the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena on her 19th birthday - then Lucie hopes to land a record deal.
She said: "I write my own stuff but I write across the board. I’ve written myself little pop songs and ballads, loads of different things. I don’t want to put myself in a niche and say ‘This is what I’m doing’ because if that doesn’t work then you’re screwed."
Living in the public eye has its drawbacks but Lucie can handle the pressure of fame. She said: "If you believe everything you read in the press I’ve got about 10 boyfriends but they haven’t brought up anything nasty about me.
"To be honest, I’ve led a scandal-free life. My parents are still together, they haven’t been through anything messy, I’ve never been beaten or raped or anything, never done any naked modelling or sex tapes!"
