Keep kids occupied at Quex Park
YOU wait for ages and suddenly it all happens at once: Valentine’s Day, Shrove Tuesday and half-term, but fortunately there’s no shortage of things to keep kids amused around the isle until they return to school.
There are heroes and dragons, puppetry and lots of opportunities to join the performance at The Tom Thumb Theatre, Margate, from Tuesday for four days. Changing Faces Theatre will present George And The Dragon for children aged between three and 11.
The hour-long sessions start at 2pm and tickets cost £5.50 for adults, £3.50 for children from 01843 221791.
Simple Simon and his pet cat Tommy help Jack and Jill and Daisy the cow at the Queens Hall, Winter Gardens, Margate, on Wednesday, February 17. The Gordon Clarkson show, with song, comedy, plenty of audience participation and prizes for children starts at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £5 from 01843 296111.
At Quex Park, the Powell-Cotton museum invites young explorers to set up a base camp, create a jungle expedition map and find the feared beasts in the gallery.
Tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday’s jungle explorations and map making sessions cost £5 for adults and £4 for children. Storytellers Scandalmongers lead Lion King explorations Monday to Friday, February 15 to 19. and Tickets cost £8 for adults and £7 for children.
Sessions start at 11am and 2pm, last 90 minutes and can be booked at 01843 842168.
There’s more kings of the jungle over at the Stage Door Theatre Company in Broadstairs. From Monday to Friday a theatre school entitled Curtain Up: A Week of The Lion King will be held ending in a performance for friends and family.
