Last week the former clothes-shop worker walked the red carpet in London when the film was given its premiere.
It tells the story of a music industry A&R man coming across the band.
The Boxer Rebellion – who also feature American lead singer Nathan Nicholson, Australian guitarist Todd Howe and British drummer Piers Hewitt – are currently unsigned.
Adam's proud mum, nurse Susan, attended the premiere, though dad Cliff was unable to make it.
"I have supported Adam and the band since they formed eight or nine years ago and, at last, it looks like they might be getting what they deserve," he said.
"They have worked so hard and I have seen them attain various successes like playing Glastonbury, being discovered, and then seen their record label imploding. I am pleased this may finally put them on the map."
As for Adam, his father said: "He is very grounded and takes things as they come. He knows the music industry and is not getting his hopes up. Adam is trying to be cool about the fuss, but secretly I'm sure he is loving it.
The Boxer Rebellion appeared at Glastonbury in 2003 and briefly signed to the Poptones label, which collapsed shortly after the release of their first album, Exits.
Last year the album briefly outsold Kings of Leon and Coldplay digitally on iTunes but was ineligible for the official UK charts due to the lack of a physical CD release.
