LIFE IN THE FAST LANE: Danny Webb during practice for the Valencia GP

The 18-year-old broke his foot last time out in Malaysia, but gave riding in Valencia a go. However, he made it impossible to race on Sunday when he high-sided during qualifying – breaking another bone in his right foot.He attempted morning practice, but it was no good.

"I really tried to ride the last race of the season and for the DeGraaf Grand Prix Team," Webb said. "It wasn't possible. I didn't have the strength in my feet to control the bike and I also got dizzy on the bike.

"These are not the conditions you want to race. It's a shame I couldn't give the team a good result this weekend. I really enjoyed the three years with the team and want to thank all team members.

"Especially I want to thank Arie Molenaar, Jarno Janssen, Hans Spaan, my mechanics, Rob and Rick, and Marlon Fluit. They made it possible to race and I will never forget them. I will still see them in the paddock next season when I will ride for the WRB Jack & Jones Team. See you in 2010!"

Yes, that's right, the Pembury youngster will be riding for Jack and Jones in 2010.
