No ration on fun

THE EDENBRIDGE Players celebrated their 60th anniversary by eating rations and dressing up as "spivs".

The group was founded before the Second World War and reconvened in 1949, so members decided on a 1940s theme for their birthday.

The celebration, at Rickards Hall on Saturday, also included a surprise presentation to the group's president Carole Orr, who has been a member of the players for 40 years.

Edenbridge Town Council chairman Terri Scanes attended the event and said: "It was a very entertaining evening and everyone had put a lot of effort into their costumes."
