easyJet axe "Malaga not Margate" ads after storm of complaints
BUDGET airline easyJet has apologised for a marketing campaign urging travellers to go to "Malaga not Margate" and withdrawn the advert.
The controversial ad sparked criticism from passengers aboard Southeastern's Margate-London rail service.
Commuters posted photos of the poster on social media last week and the company have pulled the posters after a stream of complaints.
An easyJet spokesman confirmed the decision today and said: "There was no intended criticism of the town, but of course, we apologise to any residents of Margate who have been offended by the campaign.
