“I was in the public library yesterday and was amazed to see a blue board (the ones you used to get to indicate a private area, as if that made it private!) with a sign on it (cheaply made and stuck on with velcro) stating 'SILENCE' that a registration is taking place. Is this what it has come to, I know the council are cutting back but now we are unable to register births and deaths in private? (!!!) The recent merger of libraries and registration was meant to be step forward, this was by all accounts a huge step backwards from what I saw yesterday and the reactions of others. Any thoughts?”
