“Definitely no to "fracking". Minor earthquakes are the least of the dangers. A more serious threat is the potential for the contamination of groundwater, something we just can't risk in Kent as it is a main source of our already challenged water supply.
It's time to kick our dependency of fossil fuels and find alternatives. In truth, we should have been doing this years ago but the R&D spend on renewables has been tiny in comparison to white elephant technologies like nuclear. We have great renewable resources in the UK but we haven't even begun to really exploit these yet and the more we spend on dead-end "solutions" like shale gas, the longer it will take to bring the real long term solutions on stream.”
