“David Cameron will overrule Cabinet colleagues to push through plans setting a minimum price for alcohol, it was reported today. Officials have been ordered to draw up proposals for a 40p to 50p unit floor price in English shops and supermarkets, according to the Daily Telegraph. The move is expected to cost drinkers an additional £700 million a year. What do you think to the idea?”

“Where is the evidence it will have any impact? Will this increase be via tax or simply boost supermarket profits. This government lurches from one thing to another with absolutely no coherence or imagination at all.”
