Daniel is a member of Ashford Actionnaires, a free club run by Action For Blind People, giving children with sight loss opportunities for social activities.

He said: "It's been a great day, visiting one of the top cricket grounds and meeting the players, who have shown me that sight loss doesn't prevent you being a success."

The England Blind Cricket team, including captain Matt Dean, ran the coaching session for the youngsters, which was organised by Royal National Institute of Blind People to introduce the visually-impaired children to the tactics of the game.

Steve Vaid, director of operations from Action For Blind People, said: "It is important for the children and their families to realise they are able to take part in a range of activities, no matter their level of sight."
