No cup final for strife-torn club
DEAL Town - where rival factions seem destined to end up in a bitter courtroom battle as they fight for control of the club - were beaten 2-1 at Faversham in Saturday's semi-final of the Kent Senior Trophy at Salter's Lane.
A goal in each half from ex-Dover, Folkestone and Margate defender Lee Shearer took the Kent League leaders through to a final where they'll face always unpredictable Greenwich Borough.
Shane Suter equalised for Deal early in the second half but Shearer's second goal of the game - from a penalty 11 minutes from time - decided the tie in Faversham's favour.
