Sevenoaks Vine celebrate stunning victory in Canterbury
SEVENOAKS Vine have turned their season on its head.
Two wins in seven days – against local rivals Tunbridge Wells and then leaders St Lawrence – has seen Alex Rayner's side go from a team looking like relegation candidates to one with designs on a top four finish.

Saturday's victory down in Canterbury was simply stunning.
Batting first, the Vine had been in all sorts of trouble at 40-5, but Ollie Howick and Lorne Burns put on a brilliant 160 for the seventh wicket to set St Lawrence 239 to win.
The hosts were cruising at 90-1 after just 10 overs, but then Fabian Cowdrey, with 4-18, ripped the heart out of their line-up to set up a famous win.
"We're delighted to have beaten the team at the top of the league," Rayner said. "We look a tasty side now we've got everyone back. We should really be unbeatable. I genuinely believe that. I think we can do really well from this point on and everyone else in the side believes that as well.
"We just need to make sure everyone ups their levels."
Rayner won the toss on Saturday, but things didn't exactly go according to plan. To be honest the Vine's top order was a tale of woe. Bowden (4), Cowdrey (1), Barber, who had such a great cricket week, managed six, Blackaby (0) and Shales (6) all fell cheaply.
Rayner showed some resistance, before he was out for 17. But that brought Lorne Burns to the wicket to join Ollie Howick. The duo put on a brilliant stand of 160, with Howick scoring a superb 111 not out. Burns, for the second week running, got a half-century.
It turned out to be a match-winning partnership.
In response, the leaders got off to a flying start and the Vine weren't helping themselves with some sloppy fielding. They were 90-1 off 10 overs and Stickels (65) looked very dangerous, before he was caught off the bowling of Blackaby.
But the hero with the ball for the Vine was Fabian Cowdrey, who took 4-18 off his 10 overs, as St Lawrence were skittled for 203.
The Vine face Hartley CCC at home this Saturday.
