Another away blank, but Gills' position is unchanged
Stockport County 0 Gillingham 0
GILLINGHAM'S 19th away game without a win didn't actually affect their position in League 1.
Thing is, all but Brighton of the bottom eight teams drew, so the point was neither gained nor lost.
Had Gills won, of course, there position would have improved, but on a pitch devoid of grass and pretty much ruined by rugby league neither side really did enough to get the victory.
Visiting manager Mark Stimson stuck with the side which beat Huddersfield, last Saturday, but in a dismal first half only a long-range Simeon Jackson shot and an Adam Miller effort deflected into the side netting looked like doing the trick for them.
There wasn't much more to enthuse about in the second period, although Stimson was grateful for the efforts of goalkeeper Alan Julian for several excellent saves to keep the game goalless.
