TWO hundred and fifty sixth-formers from 11 schools across Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge unleashed their intellectual might in a debate on war, human rights and Iran.

The pupils were lively participants in the model United Nations General Assembly event at the Town Hall in Tunbridge Wells.

MPs Greg Clark and Sir John Stanley watched the youngsters, who represented 32 UN member states.

One of the organisers, Beverley Johnstone, told the Courier the debate had become a "major event in the local calendar for sixth formers".
