X Factor star lights up shopping centre
FORMER X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson braved the blustery weather to switch on the Christmas lights and kick off the festivities at the Ashford Designer Outlet on Thursday.
Thousands of shoppers watched the singer, who has already sold more than 750,000 albums, take to the stage and perform hits from her album Heaven as part of the celebrations.
At 7.20pm Rebecca flicked the switch, lighting up almost a quarter of a million bulbs that are hoisted above the centre.
A star-studded line-up joined Rebecca on the night, including Britain's Got Talent finalist Ryan O'Shaughnessy, Parade, a five-piece girl group, and boyband Eli Prime, who featured on the X Factor 2012, to warm up the crowds for the Christmas lights switch-on at the centre.

Rebecca Ferguson said: "We have all had a fantastic evening. The crowds were really amazing, and it was great to be part of the Christmas celebrations at Ashford Designer Outlet.
"So many people turned up to watch the performances and get their Christmas shopping underway – it really was a great atmosphere and I loved every minute of it."
