Wyborn back in action and on glory trail
NEIL Wyborn didn’t take long to get over losing his British Amateur welterweight title. He bounced back in the most positive of ways by achieving second place at the prestigious Irish Open.
No mean feat that, since it is considered the largest Martial Arts event in the world. One in which professionals line up against amateurs.

Seeing as how competitors represented 31 countries and how Wyborn was only just beaten in the final, it was in many ways one of the best performances by a TKO fighter in years.
Chief instructor Colin Payne felt his man had done enough to strike gold.
In the semi-finals he met Irishman Wilson Snoddy, a veteran of more than 60 fights, and performed fantastically well to record a clear points win victory.
“That was a massive achievement,” said Payne. “In the final he lost what I thought was a dreadful decision to a Scottish fighter but that doesn't take away the fact that what he achieved in Dublin was easily one of our best performances ever.”
Wyborn will fight next at the Amadeus nightclub on May 9, where he meets Welshman Luke Sayce in a rematch following a close points decision victory last year.
The Welsh asked for the rematch and this will be met on a show which will also feature a title defence by TKO's double world champion Ashley Collins.
