SCOTT WOOLFORD faces former

British champion Young Mutley in Nottingham on Friday night.

Victory over the veteran welterweight would be a great scalp for Ramsgate boxer Woolford who's hoping to fight for a title this year.

The Gent said: "Mutley's a big name and an established

fighter and Frank Maloney (promoter)

has managed to get him.

"He starts slowly but builds in confidence, so

we're similar in that respect.

"I'll have to work on that because

there's only six rounds to win the

fight.

"It would have been ideal to get it

over eight or 10 rounds but you have to

take the chance to fight someone like

Young Mutley when it comes along,

regardless of how many rounds it's

over."

Sponsors Wes Ray, Les Ray and

Spencer Ray at Downfast Demolition

and James Peeling and James Allen at

JJ UK Decorators have funded time

off work so Woolford can train full-time

in the build-up to the fight.

He said: "It's a massive help to have

such good sponsors behind me."
