Division 1

Sturry v Westgate

STEVE Wood (28*) top scored on his return for Westgate after Chris Flint and Keith Sandwell both hit 20, the visitors off to a good start despite a decent spell from Sturry's Kris Hubert.

Nick Baxter (25*) helped Westgate reach 126.

Sturry made a bad start, slumping to 8-2, but Hubert (29*) led a fightback.

It was too little too late, however, Sturry restricted to 75.

Broadstairs v Hartsdonians

OPENERS Neil Brennan (32*) and Andrew Bailey (28*) helped add 63 for the first Broadstairs wicket despite a fiery spell from Simon Chittam.

Liam Narraway (17) and Chris Kidd (20) helped them to 134-4.

Hartsdonians were always behind the rate and a devastating third over from Jake Benfield (2-16) knocked them back further.

Aston Smith (17) top scored but Bailey (1-20) and Andy Marshall (1-3) wrapped up the innings with just 68 on the board.

Sandwich v Broadstairs A

JAMES Bolt (43*) was man of the match for Sandwich, holding their innings together after two early wickets fell.

Craig Snell (27*) played a cultured knock in the face of decent bowling from Callum McCormack (1-19) as the home side reached 109-5.

Broadstairs lost their two main run scorers with only 17 on the board and were eventually skittled out for 66.

Westgate A v Hartsdonians A

THIS battle of the basement sides was won by Westgate A, with Alan Winch retiring on 25 and Alex Arnold (33) also in the runs.

Winch returned to make 45 as his side were all out for a formidable 134.

Rob Strike and Steve Simonini (both 2-25) were the pick of the Harts bowlers.

But the Old Boys were a player short and it did not take long for Westgate to grab the five wickets required, Harts all out for just 41.

Division 2

St Nicholas v Ash

IN THE only Division Two game of the day, Ash started slowly as James Sutcliffe (1-18) bowled tidily.

Neil Hopkins (28*) and Gary Laslett (31) helped their side to 109-5.

Dan Carter and David Cain both retired with 25 as St Nicholas started like an express train.

But the innings was soon put in check as four wickets fell for just 12 runs. Eventually, however, Saints reached 110-5 with nine balls to spare.

Division 3

Pegasus v Broadstairs C

SCOTT Narraway and Terry Bond started briskly, both retiring with 25, as 76 was added for the first Broadstairs wicket.

But Pegasus pegged them back with three run-outs as the away side closed the innings on 122-4.

John Haddock and Andy Pidduck were soon in control and with both back in the hutch Pegasus were ahead at half way.

But Dave Parker (2-26) put Broadstairs back in the game, Pegasus falling short on 116-5.

Goodnestone v Electric

MARK Fox (40*) continued his good form with the bat as he led Electric to 145-3 with Matt Walton (25*) and Alan Nicholson (26*) also chipping in.

Set 146 to win, Andy Scott (23) and Mark Ebdon (29) led the Goodnestone reply, in vain as things turned out.

They were all out for 74.

Division 4

Broadstairs B v Sturry A

BRIAN Simpson (28) and Alfie Huntley (28*) both played well as Broadstairs made it to a respectable 99-5.

Sean Thomas (0-19) on his debut was pick of the Sturry A bowlers.

Sturry got off to a brisk start as Danny Gribbin (22) and Daaim Hasham (25) scored well and with Dave Gentry (25*) retiring unbeaten Sturry were well set, eventually making 100-2.

Northdown v Margate

NORTHDOWN were off the boil here, bowled out for just 55.

Josh Williamson (4-20) was Margate's best bowler.

His side then lost just two wickets on their way to 56, Northdown very generous with the extras.

Westgate C v Nelson B

IT WAS the Nelson batsmen who shone here, Paul Joyner (25), Perry Gillman (26) and Duncan Cotton (49*) helping them to 119-5.

Alex Spokes (1-23) was the pick of the Westgate bowlers.

But Westgate's reply started poorly and they were eventually restricted to just 79.

Division 5

All Trades v Dumpton

AT HOME to Dumpton, All Trades returned to winning ways.

Steve Todd (33) and Matt Wood (31) got them off to a solid start before Daniel Carter (1-11) closed their innings on 101 all out.

Dumpton's reply started badly but newcomer Adrian McCarthey (44*) almost turned the game in their favour. Alas they fell short on 95-4.

MBL v Nelson A

ANOTHER high scoring game saw Nelson A reach 117, thanks in part to Steve Hopper (25*) and Steve Hurrell (25*).

Dean Draper (0-17) bowled well for British Legion.

A good opening spell from Hurrells (1-16) slowed the Legionairres response, but they were always in with a shout.

However they fell seven runs short with two balls remaining, all out for 111. Unlucky for some.

Margate A v Margate B

MARGATE A conceded their game against Margate B, giving Gate B their first win of the season. Strange but true.
