KENT Police is appealing for witnesses to a collision on the A2 near Darenth.

Officers were called to the London-bound carriageway, near the Bluewater turn off, at 12.05pm on Monday following reports of a collision involving a light blue BMW and a grey Citroen Nemo.

Both cars collided into the central reservation and blocked one of the lanes.

Three lanes were closed as one of the drivers had to be cut out of her vehicle by Kent Fire and Rescue Services. The woman driver was treated at Darent Valley Hospital for her injuries, which were not life-threatening.
