THE highest results on record delighted Community College Whitstable staff, pupils, parents and governors.
Head teacher Helena Sullivan-Tighe was full of praise.

Pleased as punch: Scott Kendall, 16, and Will Gowers, 16, enjoyed GCSE success. Scott was "truly happy" with his B in English from 10 and-a-half GCSEs and Will was equally thrilled with his A* geography from 13 GCSE passes.

Distinction in PE: Lizzie Norcott, 16, got 11 GCSEs and is all set to join the sixth form at CCW.
She said: "Students are now confident about their abilities and aspire to achieve the best grades.
"As head teacher I am extremely proud of all the students and staff ."
There were record numbers of the highest grades and success in many subjects, including art, statistics, electronics, sociology, music, PE and performing arts. The core subjects, English, maths, science and ICT achieved the highest A*-C grades to date.
Top were Georgina Kavanagh, with 2As*, 5As, 3Bs, 2Cs, George Hills with 2A*s, 3As, 4.5Bs, 2Cs and Emily Wright who scored 1A*, 2As, 5Bs, 3Cs. Other high scorers were Jessica Newman, Ciaran Kerrigan, Tom Chambers, Jake Miles, Dean Searle-Dighton, Alex Bates, Joe Hiscock, Aimee Rogers, Sophie Drinkwater and Christian Taylor.
Two-thirds gained five GCSEs at grades A to C, with 33 per cent achieving five including English and maths – up from 25 per cent last year.
