Warning over Broadstairs bogus caller claiming to be from college
A BOGUS caller has been reported in Broadstairs claiming he is selling items on behalf of Thanet College.
The conman called at a house on Newington Road this month and falsely claimed he was an ex-offender selling items on behalf of the college in order to get on a course at the college.

Thanet College's director of communications Penelope Kimber said: "Thanet College certainly has no involvement with anyone selling or going door to door for any reason.
"All our staff and students who engage in community activities carry an identity card with a photo.

The man is slim, aged between 20 to 25 years old, about 5ft 9in tall.
He had short cropped hair and was wearing a light-grey sweatshirt and carrying a sports bag.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been approached in a similar manner or from anyone who may have any information about who is doing this scam.
