SIXTY guests attended a Beat the Winter Blues lunch at Age Concern's day centre in Tunbridge Wells.

Guests enjoyed a three-course meal, a raffle and entertainment, including songs from the 1940s.

The event on Saturday at the Wood Street centre was organised for the second consecutive year by Tunbridge Wells-based domicilary care agency TerraBlu. Managing director Richard Gould said: "It was lovely to see so many clients from the first event come along to this lunch and there was an even warmer, friendlier community atmosphere.

"We've been working hard to create a feeling of family within TerraBlu and I think this lunch has brought that a step further."

The lunch was one of several projects the company has run in conjunction with Age Concern. Many TerraBlu head office staff and support workers gave their time free to help at the lunch and transport was laid on free.

One client, Stanley Stephens of Tonbridge, celebrated his 77th birthday at the event and was presented with a birthday cake by his support worker Claire Derrick.
