There were collisions with hedges, overturned vehicles, and one competitor who was forced to propel her cart with her feet as it ground to a halt.
Daniel Gurney, 8, of Labour-in-Vain Road, Wrotham, said: "The races are great. I'm having so much fun."
Meanwhile, on Wrotham cricket ground, families and friends shared picnics.
Brave villagers tried a bucking bronco, and there was face-painting, a raffle and mini Olympics for those less keen to commemorate the Jubilee being hurled from the back of a bull.
Wrotham Jubilee committee chairman Irene Stone lasted 33 seconds on the bronco, while fellow committee member Julie Lovell only managed 13.
Afterwards, a breathless Mrs Lovell said: "I'm shaking but I had to have a go.
"The day's going really well – it rained first thing but now the sun's breaking through and everyone's enjoying themselves."
In neighbouring Borough Green, the High Street was packed with villagers enjoying a big lunch.
Tables filled the road, which was closed off for the event, and volunteers served sandwiches and cake.
There was a barbecue, tombola, face-painting and a bouncy castle, and villagers sported patriotic dress, including an all-in-one, Union Flag-printed jumpsuit.
Meanwhile, more than a thousand people gathered on King George's Field, Westerham, on Monday to wrap up the weekend's festivities.
Leader of Westerham Scouts Andy McKay had organised the event, which featured an open-air Abba tribute concert, bouncy castles, a teacup ride and a barbecue.
Mr McKay said he thought up to 2,000 residents had taken advantage of the late-emerging sunshine and festival atmosphere.
He added: "This was a gamble but it paid off and we were overwhelmed by the support.
"My thanks goes out to all who helped to make it happen."
The day followed Westerham's Big Diamond Jubilee Lunch on Sunday which attracted hundreds despite the rain, with revellers dancing in the mud on the green.
Jane Hunter, of the Westerham Town Partnership, said the event had been wet but still a big success, with French television crews on hand to document it.
Sundridge and Ide Hill celebrated with a street party in the White Horse car park in Main Road, and an ox roast on the Green on Monday and Sunday respectively.
Mr Banbrook, who organised the event on Sunday, said the afternoon had been a "great success".
