Six arrests for theft and fake gold sales

SEVENOAKS: Six people were arrested in the High Street on Friday in connection with stealing from an 81-year-old woman and selling fake gold.

The woman, who has not been named, was approached near the NatWest bank in Tonbridge at 11.30am by a woman described as having a dark European complexion.

The younger woman asked her for change. The victim gave it to her, but after the culprit had gone realised her wallet and credit card were missing.

At 12.50pm on the same day police arrested two men and four women, all Romanians. They were later released without charge.
