THE curtain fell on pantomime stars at the Stag on Saturday, marking the finale of what its producers say was a hugely successful production.

The show, the first professional pantomime to be held at the venue for six years, was put on by Maidstone-based team Cre8ive.

Senior Cre8ive Practitioner and choreographer for the show Kerry Turner said: "It was really well supported in Sevenoaks.

"All the juveniles and the dancers who weren't in the performing team came and watched the last show.

"The atmosphere was electric."

She added although some of the casts' stars had to dash back to their families after the run, the production team enjoyed an after-show party and were sorry to see the end of the show.

She said: "I have been to the Stag since it ended to pick up some props and it was very, very sad."

Speaking of the sale of 8,500 tickets, she said: "We always wanted more, but we went in with no patron list and no professional pantomime had been there for six years.

"So it was really, really well done.

"We would love to return in 2010, but we are awaiting a council decision."

Bucks Fizz star Cheryl Baker, from Ightham, one was one of those who visited the show.

She said: "I hope everyone in Sevenoaks went to see the panto this year.

"It truly was one of the best I have seen, including those that I have appeared in.

"We laughed the whole way through."
