UCA students were let loose in Maidstone TV Studios recently, to film a game show from an idea by one of their own colleagues, Dylan Cox.

The broadcast media students filmed 'Pub Game' which involved contestants outwitting and outmanoeuvring their opponents in front of a live studio audience. Creative theatre and film students were also involved, using their skills to help out on the technical side of things.

Simon Welsford, Senior Lecturer for Broadcast Media, said: "The recording of the show went extremely well and there was a fantastic atmosphere in the audience – the students really achieved the Friday night in the pub feeling that they were aiming for. Audience participation was essential to the show and our audience was taken from two local, competing pubs.

"Being based at Maidstone TV Studios and using their facilities in this way is an excellent professional grounding for our students. Employability is a key aim of the course and the opportunities for work placement and professional contacts give our students an enviable advantage."
