PUPILS at Dover Grammar School for Girls have won the Nat West Cup for public speaking.

The team of three triumphed in the area finals of the English Speaking Union contest, held before the half term.

Year 10 students Sophie Jerden, Rebecca Roddy and Abbey Denne competed against youngsters from East Kent and were one of the youngest teams in the contest. Rebecca also gained an individual award as best questioner. The cup is returning to the Frith Road girls' school after a gap of a year.
