Train fare campaigners to protest at stations in Rochester and Sittingbourne
CAMPAIGNERS for cheaper train fares will be at Rochester and Sittingbourne stations on Monday.
The protestors will wear giant train tickets and give out postcards to commuters in a bid to sign more regular train users to the Campaign for Better Transport.
It is calling for a review of the way fares are regulated.
Election candidates from the three main political parties have also been invited to stations to show their support.
Cat Hobbs, the group's public transport campaigner, said: "People in Kent have been hit by higher fare rises than anywhere else. The Government allows Southeastern's regulated fares to go up 3 per cent above inflation every year.
"We're glad that many election candidates here are standing up for passengers and saying that the Government must review fares."
