MARGATE will feature in a BBC Radio 4 documentary today (Friday).

You And Yours reporter Catherine Carr, pictured, came to the town last week for a programme on rebranding towns.

Mrs Carr said: "Margate is one of the towns we are visiting as part of the show.

"It has become very trendy following the opening of the Turner Contemporary gallery. With something like that opening, people cannot fail to be aware of it."

She spoke to Margate Town Partnership chairman Terry Painter, Mayor Mick Tomlinson, Paul Gray from Turner Contemporary and Derek Harding of the Margate Renewal Partnership.

The show was to be aired at noon today.
