Tonbridge High Street accident followed police pursuit of vehicle
A CAR crash in Tonbridge High Street that left a 21-year-old man in hospital followed a police chase, Kent Police has confirmed this morning.
The accident happened at around 2.30am yesterday morning and resulted in the road being closed for around 24 hours while repairs were carried out.
Kent Police took to Twitter this morning to say the car involved in the accident had been pursued for around half a mile after making off from a police patrol.
The chase came to an end when the red Peugeot 306 hit a lamp post and the driver - who was alone in the vehicle at the time - remains in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.
