MORE than 3,000 people have had their say on council plans for the future of the district.

Bosses at Canterbury City Council have published the comments it received as part of its consultation on the Local Development Framework, a blueprint for development.

Work on the project has halted because of Government changes to the way development land is allocated, but councillors will take the comments into account when the planning system is decided.

Council leader John Gilbey said: "I would like to thank everyone who took the time to give us their views on the Core Strategy.

"Public participation on this important document was much appreciated. We look forward to the future of the planning system being resolved by Parliament."
