TENTERDEN maintained their position at the top of the Kent League Division Two with a 16-run victory in this home match against Orpington.
Losing the toss and batting first, they lost wickets at regular intervals to be 95-6 after 38 overs, but a seventh-wicket stand of 38 between Ben Daking (56no) and Mark Brann allowed them to close their innings after 50 overs on 166-8.
P Schmidt (3-32) and S Clarkson (3-26) were the most successful visiting bowlers. Orpington looked fairly well placed at 100-3 with opener A Watts scoring 44, but good bowling by Ryan Knight (4-32), Timir Chanda (3-34) and Mark Baker (2-34) dismissed them for 150 with 4.4 overs remaining.

IN THIS away Kent League Division Two (second teams) match, at Orpington, good bowling by Robert Featherstone (4-34 off 15 overs), Darren Bailey (3-40) and Tevis Knight snr (2-22) restricted the home side on a slow wicket to 129 off 47.4 overs.
Tenterden lost Featherstone (19) with the score at 51, but then opener Darren Bailey (47no) and Raj Datta (52no) saw them to a nine-wicket victory as they reached 130-1 off 21.5 overs.
Rain forced the cancellation of the Sunday match between Tenterden and Northiam.
