Team makes progress after Ofsted inspection
A Marlowe Academy spokesman said: "The Ofsted visit that led to the introduction of special measures occurred only eight weeks into the current academic year, which made it hard to demonstrate any real progress made by the intervention team.
"However the follow up Ofsted inspection in March 2012 showed that satisfactory progress has been made in each of the areas highlighted for concern during the previous visit.
"Efforts are now focused on ensuring that there is a smooth transition and hand over from the outgoing intervention team to the new principal, Cassie Ellins, when she takes up her post full time in September.
"The governors are confident that Ms Ellins is an excellent choice to continue the good progress that is currently being made."
