Taylor will start for Ramsgate
JOE TAYLOR will be handed his first start tonight (Tuesday, 7.45pm) when Ramsgate host Walton Casuals in a rearranged game.
Rams were due to take on Casuals on Thursday, March 18 but with boss Jim Ward away at Cheltenham Races, the match has been brought forward.
Taylor has made only one sub appearance since joining from Margate, so it’s time to see what the big teenage striker can do.
The boss said: “The boy Taylor will start against Walton. He’s a nice lad and he’s been waiting for his chance.
“He’s a hold-up player and I’m hoping that will give our full-backs the chance to get involved higher up the pitch.
“That’s what we need from them but they haven’t quite got it yet.
“Think of any full-back who’s been considered the best in the world – Ashley Cole, Roberto Carlos – and you only remember them for the work they do in the other team’s half.”
Will Graham (ankle ligaments) is out of the game while there are doubts over Liam Quinn and Gary Mickelborough (both hamstring).
