Task force launches dawn raids in Cliftonville after drugs tip-off
POLICE launched a series of dawn raids in Cliftonville on Thursday as part of an ongoing crime crackdown.
Officers from Margate Task Force stormed two flats in Edgar Road in response to information received from the public about drug dealing.
Sergeant Martin Turner is part of Margate Task Force, a multi-agency squad concentrating on improving life in Margate and Cliftonville by tackling crime and disorder as well as poor housing.
Kent Police is focusing attention on tackling crime and antisocial behaviour in Margate Central and Cliftonville West.
Sgt Turner said: "We had received information that there was drug dealing at the property and had concerns from residents.
"It is part of an ongoing series of looking at drug and alcohol-related crime."
A man was arrested for possession of Class B drugs and another man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
