Supplier picks up prize for best produce
TOP tomatoes and perfect peppers helped a Canterbury fresh produce supplier pick up a prize.
Gomez, based at Bridge, near Canterbury, was named Tesco Salad Supplier of the Year at a ceremony at the Sofitel Hotel, in Heathrow.
It comes in the same year the company saw its turnover jump by more than 30 per cent, with more than 10 million cases of salad and other produce delivered to Tesco.
The stock is sold nationwide and across Europe and among the best-selling products are tomato varieties of Sugardrop, Moruno, Tesco Finest Meli Melo and Cheribelle plus sweet mini peppers.
