HUNDREDS of Cowden residents enjoyed the fantastic weather at the village's annual summer fete on Saturday.

This year's event included a full dog show, belly dancers and children's fancy dress.

Chairman of the organising committee Carolyn Childs said: "We had a fantastic day. After last year we had an evaluation and asked people what they wanted and it worked out really well.

"We were blessed with the weather, which was wonderful and every group in the village took part.

"It was a great celebration of this village which is a really great place to live."
