STRIKER Chris Dickson has finally signed for Gills.

He agreed a three-month loan deal, from Charlton, this morning and will almost certainly be in the side for Saturday's home League 1 clash with Bristol Rovers, the side for whom he scored four times in 14 games earlier in the season.

Manager Mark Stimson's need for a goalscorer has become more and more pronounced in recent weeks - the side have scored only once in seven games - and he will be hoping for a repeat of Dickson's record when he was at Priestfield two seasons ago.

He then scored 11 times in 14 appearances and anything like that would surely keep Gills in League 1.

Stimson has been after the Ghana international since then and was thought to have been close to bringing him to the club before the transfer window shut in August.

He has been back in the Charlton squad lately and played five games over Christmas and January. He hasn't featured since January 25, when the Addicks lost at home to Leyton Orient.

His arrival means Stimson suddenly has an embarrassment of forward riches, with Renee Howe and James Walker also on loan and Simeon Jackson and Mark McCammon already on the books.

At least it means the sort of selection headache most managers would like to have.
