PETER NOTT'S first game in charge of Maidstone ended in a 3-0 defeat to Hendon at Homelands last night.

Nott, who joined the club eight years ago as boss of the Under 14s, has been named caretaker manager until the end of the season following the resignation of Lloyd Hume and Alan Walker on Monday.

His side, missing several key players, were two goals down inside 12 minutes and conceded again before the break.

United improved in the second half but there was no way back.
